How does the
SAF-T-Door latch work?
The door latch is installed to the door frame of outward swinging doors and works on both wooden and metal doors and frames. It uses the strength of the door and door frame to prevent an intruder from accessing the classroom or office.
How is it held in place?
It is affixed to the door and frame by bolts. The latch is held in place by a steel pin. Once the pin is pulled, the door latch snaps across and latches on to the door frame, making it nearly impossible to open the door. The latch may be released manually from the inside or by using a device inserted into the exterior fixture.
